This Privacy Policy explains what (if any) data PrimeShield — an ad & tracker blocking Chrome extension — collects, how it’s used, and your rights. PrimeShield is designed to protect your privacy; by default it does not collect, transmit, or store personal browsing data.
1. Summary
- No data collection: PrimeShield does not collect, transmit, or store personal data or browsing activity to any server. All blocking and rule processing happens locally in your browser.
- No analytics or telemetry: We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or third‑party tracking inside the extension.
- No selling or sharing: We never sell or share your data with third parties.
2. What data (if any) PrimeShield accesses
PrimeShield requires only the minimum permissions needed to operate in Chrome. These permissions are used locally and are not used to collect or transmit your data:
- Host permissions (e.g., access to requests for sites you visit) — used exclusively to apply blocking rules in your browser.
- DeclarativeNetRequest / ruleset usage — rules are evaluated by Chrome locally; PrimeShield does not read or send your browsing requests to external servers.
- Extension storage — used to save your local settings, per-site toggles, whitelist, and paused-state preferences on your device.
Notes:
- These permissions enable blocking functionality only. No URLs, page content, or other browsing details are logged, transmitted, or stored outside your device.
3. How blocking works
- Blocking and rule matching are performed locally using Chrome’s declarativeNetRequest API and the extension’s local rule lists. This design prevents background monitoring and avoids sending browsing data to any external service.
4. Third‑party services and libraries
- PrimeShield does not include third‑party analytics, advertising, or tracking libraries.
- If any future optional feature requires a third‑party service, that feature will be clearly labeled in the extension and will require your explicit consent before activation; the Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
5. Data retention and deletion
- Settings and whitelist entries are stored locally in your browser storage. To delete them, uninstall the extension or remove stored settings in the extension’s options page.
- Because PrimeShield does not collect or transmit personal browsing data to external servers, there is nothing retained by the developer outside your device.
6. Security
- We follow best practices for extension development and avoid sending or storing sensitive data externally.
- If you discover a security issue, please contact us immediately (see Contact below).
7. Children
- PrimeShield is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Legal requests
- PrimeShield does not maintain user browsing data or identifiable records. If presented with a legal request for data, there is no user browsing data to provide.
9. Your choices and rights
- Control blocking: You can toggle blocking per-site, pause blocking for 1 hour / 4 hours / 1 day, or whitelist sites entirely via the extension UI.
- Remove data: Uninstalling the extension clears local extension storage. Clearing browser extension data or resetting Chrome can also remove stored settings.
- Contact us to request deletion of any developer-managed records (none are kept).
10. Changes to this policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in features or legal requirements. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.
